There are plenty of nooks and crannies at The Idle Hour to get intimate with a friend. Or try a little al fresco in the summer for that after work bevo; a pleasant escape from the daily grind. The ceiling has an incredible sun trap which, on beautiful evenings, will open up and let the warm breeze through. On a bright day, the sun will warm you and at night you may be lucky to get a glimpse of the moon.
The Idle Hour is not your typical pub, but rather a stylish watering hole with a kink of retro; red leather sofas, large candle holders and lanterns illuminating the stairs. The walls are dotted with all manner of clocks, big ones, little ones and colourful ones. If conversation ever runs out (if you can actually hear conversation over the hubbub), the clocks, believe it or not, are plenty interesting. None of them tell the correct time so it’s even easier to let the time amble by without ever knowing. I’m sure you’ll make it here.... it’s just a matter of time.
