The staff at the Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel in the City of London (pictured above) have developed a challenge that even the most hardened diners amongst us will need to train for: a 26-day world food marathon.

Starting today and “running" (snigger) until July 27th, the day of the 2012 London Olympic Games opening ceremony, 26 dishes from 26 countries will feature amongst the regular menu options at the hotel's four restaurants: the grand neo-classic and stained glass domed 1901 restaurant; the recent ‘best sustainable seafood restaurant in London', Catch; the casual brasserie, Eastway; and the Japanese restaurant, Miyako. One special starter, main course or dessert will be available each day.
